Key Features
- Native 4K/60fps Support - Capable of distributing 4K/60fps 4:4:4 8-bit YCbCr or RGB source content with support for 10/12-bit deep color formats including HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. JPEG 2000 compression ensures the highest video quality is retained resulting in a lossless-like solution.
- JPEG 2000 compression - provides a lossless-like video signal with a ultra-low end-to-end latency less than a single video frame. The EV2 encoder features several I/O connections including RS-232, USB and IR for control and integration of 3rd-party peripherals.
- Source Previews - All encoders within the V2 family of MXnet endpoints can generate a sub-stream for previewing connected sources. These previews can be viewed within the CBOX Mentor user interface or added to 3rd-party control system Uls to provide an enhanced control experience.
- Low Latency Distribution - JPEG 2000 compression allows V2 endpoints to have an end-to-end system latency of approximately 1 video frame (16ms) with 60Hz video content. Enable ultra-low latency mode (ULLM) to achieve an even more impressive latency of <4ms. This incredible performance is imperceivable in many Pro AV applications.
- High Bitrate Multi-Channel Audio - Transmit up to 8 channels of premium bitstream audio formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
- USB & KVM - Connect USB peripherals such as a keyboard and mouse to extend them over the network to remote computers to create large IP-based KVM systems. Isochronous peripherals such as a webcam or IMAG devices can also be connected and extended for use in corporate or higher education environments.
- Control Signal Routing - All V2 endpoints are equipped with RS-232 and Infrared I/O. Using the powerful MXnet API, you can passthrough control over the network to practically any 3rd-party component in a system such as displays, sources, amplifiers, shades or projector screens just to name a few.
Description
The AC-MXNET-1G-EV2 represents the next step forward on the evolutionary path of the MXnet Platform, encompassing an industry-first, holistically integrated approach to AV over IP video distribution from a solo manufacturer. AVPro Edge’s exclusive MXnet Platform offers the only proprietary, hyper-optimized AV over IP ecosystem of network-based encoders, decoders, and managed switches guided from a centralized control unit by MXnet Mentor, our in-house engineered system setup and control solution.

AC-MXNET-1G-EV2, an Evolution II Encoding/Transmitting device, incorporates a newly designed AVPro Edge application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that introduces an improved software-based video encoding/decoding engine into the IC for enhanced video processing. Refinements to the IC include native support for 4K/60fps 4:4:4 signals (RGB and YCbCr @10- and 12-bit), plus extended audio capabilities to support high bitrate multi-channel formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for IMAX Enhanced soundtracks. All MXnet first-generation encoder features are retained for use with the AC-MXNET-1G-EV2.
As a member of the AVPro Edge family of AV over IP products, an AC-MXNET-1G-EV2 is a gateway where a signal enters the MXnet Ecosystem, connected with category cable (AVPro Edge strongly encourages CAT-6a infrastructure for all MXnet system deployments; however, for MXnet 1G, Cat-5e will comfortably transport MXnet 1G data signals) or fiber optic cabling, to an MXnet switch or any compatible multicast-capable managed L3 network switch.
A connected HDMI source will have audio and video signals encoded into a multicast data format for routing to any AC-MXNET-1G-EV2 system endpoint connected to the same MXnet switch. Encoded HDMI source signals up to native 4K/60fps 4:4:4 with Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG are passed to EVO II downstream AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 decoders, with RS-232 serial pass-through, IR control or USB signals also transportable inside encoded data packets.
Encoding is executed using an optimized JPEG 2000 codec, which parses data at managed flexible rates to minimize bitrate errors (200Mbps for 1080p content, 300Mbps for 4K/30fps content, peaking at 850Mbps for 4K/60fps content). Frame-syncing Genlock is supported, with latency near zero and visually imperceptible. The AC-MXNET-1G-EV2 runs quietly and remains cool during operation, utilizing a fan-less design featuring chip-top heatsinking to efficiently disperse heat while limiting power consumption at typically 7 watts or less for stability and device longevity.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: MXNET-1G-EV2 and AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 devices may coexist alongside MXnet first-generation encoders and decoders within previously installed systems or pending system deployments; however, they are required to be used exclusively in EVO II transmitter-to-EVO II decoder(s) pairings only.
